Letra de HAD TO GO GET IT - Killer Mike

(Feat. TROY DURDEN)

Aight, it was the '90s, shit was, shit was grimy, ain't shiny, I didn't wanna work

I wanted to get some work, have the trap jumpin' like holy church, I

I didn't, you know, I didn't wanna do wrong, but, boy, I didn't wanna work long

I had to, I had to sort it out, I

I just pray God forgive me 'cause I don't wanna, I don't wanna ask permission

I had to get it

I just be walkin' a tightrope, am I gon' always do right? No

Used to sell grams of that white coke on Ponce de Leon to white folk

Knew to do better, but I wanted cheddar, so dance with the devil, yeah, yeah, yeah, I did it

And crime got committed and I must admit it that I was addicted like dope to the dealin'

And whiskey and wickedest women and lust and the luxury livin'

Bitches and Bimmers and Benzes, I had some demons for friendses

They kept the town in a frenzy

Hold on, we're movin' and groovin', they would rob anything movin'

They were determined, no losin'

They were 'bout winnin' and sinnin', they were 'bout gettin' it, no gimmick

They told me, "Michael you gonna go higher, but us, we stuck in it, so we go relentless"

And I understand it, from the west side of the city

Shit can get violent, real vicious

Life is a bitch, but you still suckle her titty

When that's all you got for nutrition, don't argue, just listen

I was wrong

But one day

You heard my prayer

So grant me better days

Father, it was You

Yeah, I was wrong

But You made a way

Way out of no way
