"Play" is the highly anticipated fifth studio album by British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, scheduled for release on September 12, 2025, under the labels Gingerbread Man Records, Atlantic Records, and Warner Music. This album primarily blends pop with influences from Persian and Punjabi music, reflecting the artist’s musical evolution and versatility. 

The album was produced by Ed Sheeran alongside notable producers such as Ilya Salmanzadeh, Blake Slatkin, Johnny McDaid, and Savan Kotecha. Play includes hits like the singles "Azizam," a Persian collaboration with Iranian singer Googoosh that debuted at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart; "Old Phone," featuring a nostalgic and acoustic style; and "Sapphire," which blends Western pop with Punjabi music in collaboration with Indian singer Arijit Singh. 

The standard edition of the album contains 13 tracks, while the deluxe edition adds two additional songs and a 20-page booklet with lyrics and credits. To support the release, Ed Sheeran will embark on The Loop Tour from January to March 2026, visiting cities across Australia and New Zealand. 

Play will be available in digital formats, CD, vinyl, and cassette, solidifying Ed Sheeran’s status as one of contemporary music’s most influential and versatile artists.
